Meet the Team: Morgan Jacob Senior Graphic Designer

Morgan Jacob is the Senior Graphic Designer at TREAD Agency.

YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR THE OUTDOORS. WHERE DID THAT START?

I am originally from just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where I grew up exploring the vast outdoors, from neighborhood trails to the Delaware Water Gap. When I wasn’t running around the parks in Pennsylvania, I spent my summers in Cape May, New Jersey, where I was exposed to many aquatic life forms. 

My favorite memory growing up is of my father giving his “biology” classes at the beach. He would bring either a cast or seine net and tell us all about the creatures that got caught in it as we dragged it ashore (yes, we put them back in the water when we were done studying them). I still find myself studying new creatures on the beach, whether in Cape May or down in Florida. The best part is that I get to pass all this knowledge on to my friends who, to my surprise, had never even seen things like jellyfish, horseshoe crabs and skates before! 

I attended college in the city of Philadelphia, where there was more concrete and steel than foliage and clean air. Spending several years in the city made me look to the trails and natural beauty to escape the monotonous fast lifestyle. At the time, I wanted to live in Philadelphia for the rest of my life, but as I got older and saw more of the outdoors, I knew city life was not for me. 

Now I reside on Florida’s “Adventure Coast,” where nature and wildlife are right at my back door. Moving to Florida has inspired me to get back out there and explore new places.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THE OUTDOOR INDUSTRY? AND HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED WITH TREAD?

I was unaware of how massive the outdoor industry was when I started my role as a graphic designer at Kahn Media. My career was heavily focused on the automotive industry, so Kahn Media was a great fit for me. When I was offered the opportunity to work on TREAD projects as the senior graphic designer, I immediately said yes! The more I worked on TREAD projects, the more I became interested in the outdoor space and realized I don’t have to leave the automotive industry behind but rather join it with the outdoor industry, where they go hand in hand.
